iPhone as OCD Treatment?

Partly this seems great, partly it makes me cringe, and somehow it seems like it would wear off at some point. I guess as long as the photo is dated, you don't have to worry that it's yesterday's photo...

I still hate it that ERP seems so unknown.

  1. That seems a little counterproductive if you ask me. I wonder if Kate has ever tried ERP? It's constant reassurance at it's finest.

  2. This just proves that those with OCD are some of the most creative people around! You're right though, this is cringe worthy when you consider the normally vicious cycle of obsessions and compulsions.

  3. Just to clarify, the iPhone picture usage is constant reassurance, not ERP. :)

  4. she does have an interesting point to get thru a pregnancy without using drugs- or nursing a baby.

She's doing one of the steps in Brain Lock- really noticing it's locked. By taking a real picture she's also taking it in her mind, which is what normal people do naturally. She says she doesn't have to check the pic, because she knows it's there. I can also see ocd bugging someone into having to check the pics for reassurance.

It's not as good as erp, which desensitizes you completely but it's better than agoraphobia, & you're right, Sunny, it is very creative!
