I've been composing a post in my head all weekend. I did a great job with non-avoidance this week. But so many of the things I was proud of sounded stupid when I thought about writing them down: I rode in a car! I went to lunch! I ate cake!
Suffice it to say, I usually avoid some pretty mundane things, and this week I chose not to. I am happy with my efforts.
My Apologies!

Oh, no, they are not stupid at all! I would love to hear all the different things you accomplished. Unless someone lives with OCD like us, they would have absolutely no idea just how much OCD takes over - all the little "mundane" items of daily living. Plus, sometimes, I avoid things without even realizing it. Reading about what others conquer sometimes makes me aware that I've been avoiding the same things. Plus, I would never think that any accomplishment (no matter how seemingly small) was too little to celebrate. Really great job by the way!
ReplyDeleteI agree; they are not stupid things! There are a number of us who struggle with "small" things, but the victories can be big. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI like your "composting a post" :-)
ReplyDeleteAnything you're proud of accomplishing is NOT stupid, so share away! Any movement forward with OCD is cause for celebration.
You should write it down, as we all can relate. Those very things, would be big accomplishments in my world!
